Yann Seabra - Designer
Biography

 

Yann Seabra is a Set and Costume Designer based in London.  


His design commissions include theatre, musicals, opera, films, dance and education projects. Yann believes strongly in a dynamic collaborative process with open communication between artists. He contributes to a range of exciting arts projects through combining his many skills into a variety of roles including choreographing, directing, teaching and designing. His projects include assisting the choreographer Peter Darling with his musical productions of Billy Elliott, Roald Dahl's Matilda with the RSC. 

Yann is the Co-Founder of 
BRASH - a collaboration of writing, dance and theatre between Yann and Director Ben Brynmor. 

Yann's career spans 15 years working in the theatre, film and Arts. He was born in Manaus, Brazil where he studied at the Artes School of Amazonas before studying classical dance in Sao Paulo. For many years Yann worked within the dance industry as a Dancer, Choreographer's Assistant and Rehearsal Director for international dance companies including Ballet Stagium in Sao Paulo, the Companhia Portuguesa De Bailado Contemporaneo in Lisbon and for Phoenix Dance Theatre in Leeds.

In 2007 Yann retrained as a Set and Costume Designer at the renowned Motley Theatre Design School in London, directed by Alison Chitty.
